Laying out the rules: 3 rounds, this one is just explanation. Please don't join the argument solely to troll, always cite your sources, never have a statement with no facts backing it up, and don't use curse words without good reason.

The main problem I have with GMO foods is the resistance to weed killers. This means that our food supply is being poisoned with weed killer.

There are people making tons of money selling this poison making the claim that it is not harmful yet there are more and more studies as human exposure increases showing that it is not harmless

Uh, I did say this round was just explanation, but alright.

While your concern isn't unfounded, I believe that the benefits of GMOs greatly outweigh the disadvantages.
GMOs increase yield, are generally a lot more healthy, easier to eat (seedless oranges, etc.), and just taste better.

I would argue that genetic modification would not be needed and just normal propagation and could yield results close to that of genetic modification. The main uses of genetic modification is to make plants resistant to chemicals. I would argue that the pharmaceutical companies are more concerned with profits than peoples health, they actually benefit from the poor health of the population. The main use of GMO's are in the resistance to glyphosate (weed killer) The GMO's created to be resistant to glyphosate are the majority of our grains, corn, rice, oats, and sugar cane. If we eliminated chemicals from the GMO equation I would be inclined to agree. But that is not where the money is and thus GMO's currently are a negative thing.

First, off the correct grammatical spelling would be "GMOs", not "GMO's". An apostrophe would imply a conjunction or a possessive.
Second, caffeine is three times more toxic than glyphosate, and both baking soda and salt have a lower lethal dose than it as well. And long-term effects seem to be minimal, because it doesn't build up in the human body, isn't digested very well, and it exits the body about the same as it comes in. And most of the claims against glyphosate, like it's been linked to rising rates of cancer, autism, etc., are not very accurate, because it assumes correlation=causation. Rising rates of cancer and autism could be just as easily linked, to, say, violent video games. Yes, glyphosate isn't harmless, but criticizing GMOs because of glyphosate would be like not eating oranges because they contain citric acid. By the way, the lethal dose of citric acid is a little over 3 ounces. You would need to drink three gallons of Roundup herbicide to get a lethal dose of glyphosate.
