I believe gay marriage should be legal because it gives people the freedom to marry whoever they want and that it is their life. Gay marriage has many pros and cons.
First, Gay marriage has a lower divorce rates and is more stable than heterosexual marriages. In other words, There is less fighting and the spouse gets along with the husband or wife.
Secondly, Gay couples are more likely to be better parents. Studies show that children raised by gay couples are more social and smarter. The con to this is that studies also show that 10% of children of gay couples or who are LGBT+ are threatened or injured, 34% of them are bullied at school, 28% are cyberbullied, 23% have experienced sexual dating violence, 18% have experienced physical dating violence, And 18% have been forced to have sexual intercource.
Thirdly, Gay marriage can be good because couples can adopt. Most heterosexuals believe that gays can"t reproduce, But not everyone wants children of their own. Right now in America, There are 115, 000 children needing to be adopted, But the conservatives are wanting to take away that right for the gays. According to the Declaration of Independence, It reads, "we hold these truths to be self-evident, That all men are created equal, That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, That among these are Life, Liberty, And the pursuit of Happiness. " But most conservatives don"t want to adopt, Which leaves a problem.
Most people who are christian agree with the Bible. In Leviticus 18:22, It reads "Do not have sexual relations with a man as does a woman; that is detestable" (NIV). What most people or christians don"t know is that a lot of LGBT+ youth are christian. I have read in LGBT+ safe chats online of kids saying that they were raised in christian/catholic families and if it"s ok to be lesbian, Pansexual, Or pan (dating boys, Girls, And trans), Gay, Demisexual, Or demi (someone who doesn"t want a sexual relationship unless they are emotionally attracted to each other), Etc. Most of the people answer those questions with a "yes" and that it"s ok to be yourself and that it"s your life. Luckily gay marriage is protected by the 5th amendment and the 14th amendment of the Constitution. The 5th amendment restricts the government from prosecuting someone for their crimes. The 14th amendment states that anyone born in the U. S. Are American citizens and it protects some of the rights for everyone.
Some of the other cons include health issues to LGBT+. Gay men can develop diseases such as anal cancer. They are 17 times more likely to get anal cancer than straight men. Lesbian/bi women have a higher risk for diseases than other women.
In conclusion, I believe gay marriage should be legal because they should have the rights (14th amendment), Just like everyone else, To get married. If it were illegal, It would be unfair to them because it is their life and not anyone else's, Including their sexuality.

First, And foremost, I'll state that the State shouldn't interfere with any union formed by any two (or more) individuals. With that said, However, I do believe that, "marriage, " historically a Christian ceremony, Should remain in the realm of the church. If it were simply about legal privileges, Homosexuals would've conceded to civil unions, But it's more so about "inclusion" in a sacred ritual that's entrenched in the grander culture of forming committed relationships. The very same people who are trying to argue the validity of gay marriage, Do not do the same, For example, When it comes to "Nikkahs" (Islamic wedding ritual) and "Nissuins" (Jewish wedding rituals. ) This is in part the fault of the Church which sought to expand its influence through the State. And in doing so, It's rituals are subject to the influence of the State, Which is a political body, Not a spiritual one. The solution is not to "legalize gay marriage. " The solution is to set clear boundaries between the State and the Church, And leave "marriage" to be a spiritual arrangement influenced by the principles of the church, Rather than a legal arrangement.

Also, Please don't use religion to make a point about how society should work. It's just plain dumb.

Who gives a fuk? If 2 dudes wanna bump diks and make it official through marriage, I say let em. It doesn't effect me, Or you, Or anyone but them. I may not wanna bang dudes or marry them but I sure as hell believe they should be allowed.

Only the cherry picking Christian would use one passage (Leviticus 18:22) to justify their hatred towards gays. Because nowhere in the bible does it say you can pick the commandments you want to follow and then neglect the rest.
