I want to hear your P.O.V

Greetings, to both my opponent and the reader.
I believe that art can be made with the intent to profit from it and it can still be pure and beautiful art pieces, a good example is music, bands and singers make their songs to sell them and receive revenue from their products, video game companies (large ones and indies alike) make their games for them to be sold in order to continue doing what they love, of course, some songs and games are dull and are made only to give the craving consumer something to spend money on, like new rap/pop "musicians" and video game companies like Ubisoft and Electronic Arts. But those shallow works should not taint your point of view about the topic in general, and of course, there is some songs and some games that are free to play and to hear. But we must have in mind, they are competing in a market that is ever escalating and in that race to desperately beat and outrun the competition, quantity tends to out stand quality. yet there is and will always be those who do both, obtain profit and be beautiful.

No it is not art, but that is based on my own definition of the word art. Unless you argue that everything made and viewed by man is art, but then then the word art utterly meaningless.

Of course it's still art. Just because somebody wants to make a living off making art doesn't mean it's still not art.
