This is my first time doing a debate on this website, so if there's a rule I didn't hear about, don't get too impatient!

Anyway, I don't care which side I'm on, but this website forces me to pick a side. So, I'm going to push my luck and say that global warming isn't real.

So, is global warming real?

May the one with the correct answer win.

First off, I would like to state that the Earth's temperature is constantly changing, but not in favor of global warming.

I would first like to define global warming, which is "an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution," copied directly from the Merriam-Webster dictionary.

I agree that the Earth is getting hotter, however, not mainly because of human involvement. The global temperature has been changing since the early BCEs, first being really hot from the Earth being molten rock, then gradually cooling until the ice age occured. Then, after the last Ice Age, Earth started to heat up again, which caused major floods in all parts of the world. Unmasking Evolution says that there was 5 major ice ages, the first was in 1,700 to 2,300 million years ago in the middle of the Huronian Era in Precambrian time, the second was at the end of the Proterozoic Era 670 million years ago, 420 million years ago in the middle of the Paleozoic Era, between the Ordovician and Silurian Periods, 290 million years ago in the late Carboniferous and early Permian Periods, late in the Paleozoic Era, 1.7 million years ago in the Pleistocene Epoch of the Quaternary Period (Cenozoic Era). Unmasking evolution also says that "Ice ages are said to have occurred every 150 million years, and last for at least 1 million years. According to the ice age theory, our current warm period will end with the beginning of another cold phase in 23,000 years time." This means that after this warm phase of the Earth, there will be another ice age, and "global warming" is just temporary, and it just so happens that the 21st century is within the bounds of Earth's natural phase of warming up. This is my argument against the rise in sea level, rise in the global average temperature, and rise in ocean temperatures.

Although 2014 was the hottest year ever recorded, most of the heat was in the Northern Hemisphere. The ice in Antarctica covered more of the southern oceans than ever recorded since the late 1970s. This is unusual, and many theories suggest that the Southern Ocean Circumpolar Current and the wind were intense and that the temperature slowly on an increase could not match up to the stronger force of the current not allowing warm water in and the wind keeping it cold, however this is very controversial. This is also peculiar because the ozone layer is right above Antarctica, and therefor the evidence of that doe not match up with the result, as Antarctica has hit a record for most ice ever recorded. This also proves that evidence on global warming is not always accurate. Another example of this happening is when Al Gore predicted that all of the Arctic ice would be gone by 2013, and Artic ice has gone up 50% in 2012 and in 2015 hit a record high for refreezing of ice.

I know I'm suppose to provide 3 reasons but I'm running out of time :P sorry

That question does not match what people are saying.
The public question is, does climate manipulation exist?
