It is one of the best because of Darth Vader, Yoda, And it has Harrison Ford there for Star Wars is one of the Best Movie series

It's not the best cause most people have different opinions. Plus if you're speaking like out of the WHOLE WORLD MOVIE SERIES, Then surely it's not the best series. Like, You got stuff like Narnia, Or Lord of the Rings. I mean, Those are some REALLY good movie series if you watched them all.

First off I said one of the best and this is ment to be opinion based. Star wars is also amazing because it has a very intriguing story line. All that can come from a story line is amazing.

Its not an underestimation to state that without Kurosowa, Half of the films we see today that come out of Hollywood, Especially in the summer would not occur if not for him. Gotta run. Sleep calls.

@omar2345 - Yeah there are some movies out there, As well as some music that is just so original that its truly impossible to classify under anything that is watchable and or listenable that are truly gone from this universe. GRanted, I can't take the films for too long, But the music to me is listenable for some acts in which almost nobody can listen to.

But really, Please do watch Ran and then watch The Hidden Fortress. Hopefully you do not have a problem with foreign films that are subtitled?

PLease tc and have fun.

"Oh I don't know about that one. "

@omar2345 - Oh absolutely! Star wars episode IV A New Hope is a masterpiece! It is a truly great time at the movies. I've probably seen it at least 100 times or more though I do, And so do critics from around the world as a whole, Consider Empire Strikes Back to be one of the greatest films ever made.

"Everything is influenced by something else in some capacity. " Oh I don't know about that one. There are some films and some bands/ artists that are complete originals. If you or anyone can find who they are influenced by, I'd love to see their films or listen to their music. Its what I live for. Granted, Its exceptionally rare but it does exist.

No, No plagiarism existed between Star Wars Episode IV a New Hope and The Hidden Fortress because George Lucas did give credit where credit where credit is due. Now plagiarism did most certainly exist between Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo and Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars because no credit was given by Leone. Kurosawa was p**sed and rightly so. Yojimbo is my 5th fav film and is a true blast.

Yeah watch The Hidden Fortress its the most fun I've ever had watching a film. It is sooooooo fun to watch the two bumbling groveling greedy misfits gripe at each other throughout the entire film.

Now my fav film all time is Kurosawa's Ran. It is a Japanese samurai film based on King Lear. It has my choice for the second most evil character ever created for film. Awesome battle sequences, Kurosawa was 3/4's blind when he made it etc etc etc.

Star Wars Episode IV is still a good movie. Everything is influenced by something else in some capacity. The only problem would be if there is plagiarism if so then the why haven't they sued Star Wars? I would since I would get a lot of money.

I'll watch Hidden Fortress. I think I have heard of it but never found the time to watch it or was busy doing something else. That was directed at them but might as well add this part in.

The both of you probably don't even know that Star Wars episode IV A New Hope was heavily influenced, If not a remake of a classic Japanese Samurai film named The Hidden Fortress directed by Akira Kurosawa one of the greatest directors of all time, If not the greatest directors of all time.
