Information is the basis of the universe:
1. If we can clearly describe a state, there is an information content to that state. 2. We can clearly describe any state with a high enough level technology. 3. Therefore, all states have an information content. 1. Matter can be converted into energy, and vice-versa. 2. Maxwell's Demon shows we can convert information into energy and vice-versa. 3. Therefore, we can convert information into matter indirectly.
Information is not the basis of the universe. Information is how we perceive the universe. Rebuttal to 1st point. 1. If we can clearly describe a state there is an information content to that state, that is true but the universe exists weather or not we always know it. 2. No, I am not scientifically illiterate, I am not. 3. Again information is how we perceive it. Rebuttal to second point. 1. Matter can be converted into energy, yes. 2. Maxwell's demon is not proven in any way. 3. That is like saying I can RELATE this to that that this is that |

Rebuttal to first rebutall:
1. Shannon information =/= physical information. It is IMPOSSIBLE to have a state without an information content. It has an information content whether or not we know that it does. Rebuttal to second rebuttal: 1. Maxwell's Demon was proven, see (http://physicsworld.com...). 2. Info can be converted to energy because of it's relationship to entropy. Clarification: I vote for a sort of monism, energy can be converted to information and matter, and therefore there exists one substance with several varieties of the sort. Energy = Matter = Information. One bit = 0.28 kTln2 (see article), therefore we can define a formula for Information-Mass Equivalence: 0.28 kTln2 = (mc^2)^2+pc^2 123456789123456789 forfeited this round. |

I don't have anymore arguments - I think I've made my point.
