If you haven't noticed, it seems like all of the newest movies are sequels of old movies. Are people running out of ideas? Could the industry completely fall out one day?

I believe it is what our generation is interested in. People are more interested in generic sci-fi movies than classic musicals. Everything seems the same, what the entertainment industry needs to do is come up with original stuff. Yes the movie industry is going down, no it wont be completely gone.
Debate Round No. 1

Heres a list of new movies coming out between now and 2016 --

Finding Dory
Another Madagascar movie
Ice Age 5
Hotel Transylvania 2
Another Planet of the Apes movie
Transformers 4
Pitch Perfect 2
Avatar 2, 3, and 4
Captain America 2 (not really what its called)
Night at the Museum 3
Rio 2
How to Train Your Dragon 2 and later 3
Another Avengers movie (which makes sense)
Star Wars 7 and later 8
Another Terminator movie
Ted 2
Another Bourne movie
Despicable Me 3
Alvin and the Chipmunks 4 (come on)
Kung Fu Panda 3
The Smurfs 3
Independence Day 2
Another X-Men movie
Batman vs. Superman
Star Trek 3
Alice in Wonderland 2
Justice League (which I am happy about)

So as you can tell some of these are just sequels and some are not. I just feel like no one can come up with any other better ideas so they continue with a story line. But movies like Alvin and the Chipmunks and Avatar are stories that would be just fine left alone. More than likely I am assuming these movies will not be as successful as the orginal because the story line will dread on hen there really didnt need to be another story line in the first place.

Obviously the movie industry isn't going down if they're making more movies, I too wish they could make more original movies.
Debate Round No. 2

Well if you think about it to the fact that they arent going to make more money by just making sequels, the industy would go down, or decrease. Just because they are still making movies doesnt mean that the movies are going to successful every time.

That is true, however. There will be good movies and there will be bad movies. I believe that the movie industry is not going down because some people are willing to give movies chances, and some people are stupid enough to watch movies with bad reviews just to see how bad it is. The movie industry is making some stupid movies, but there are really good movies coming. Its just creativity is going down, making movies less successful.

Also this doesn't seem like much of a debate. More like a forum topic

Pro might be feeling like this because January and Febuary are traditionally 'bad movie months'.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro, you spelt industry wrong in the title I find that really unprofessional. That is why i gave S & G to Con. Con, you did not use any sources, to back up your arguments. That is why I awarded all other points to Pro.
