Greetings. I'd like to thank my opponent for starting this debate. With that out of the way, let us proceed:

In today's case, I (as the CON) will strongly negate my opponent's resolution that concerns Milk as being nasty. To counter this position, I advocate that Milk MAY be nasty. I define this position as being a position that takes the subjectivity of "taste" into account. Thus, I advocate that milk can taste "good" and "bad", but is not objectively nasty (as is my opponent's implication). It is the job of my opponent to conclusively prove that milk is objectively nasty. He has yet to provide an argument for this and I doubt he would be able to provide a valid one during the round.

I now await my opponent's first rebuttal.

SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION....
MY INITIAL CAUSE FOR STARING THIS DEBATE WAS BECAUSE OF ALL THE STUFF THAT'S IN IT AND SEING WHAT OTHERS HAD TO SAY AGAINST IT.....
fOR OTHERS CONCERN LET ME SAY THAT THERE IS MORE IN MILK THAN JUST MILK!!!!
Dairy cows are constantly inpregnated to keep the milk flowing and they are constantly hooked up to machines that cause blisters and scabs....
Those scabs are then on the udders which are connected to the machines that milk the cow....
Now the scabs don't just disappear......they end up in the milk that people drink......
That is what makes milk nasty, rather that is what I was refering to in this particular debate.......

My opponent has stated that milk is nasty in his original round as well as in the resolution. Thus, it is still his job to counter my case which referred to milk "tasting nasty."

As for milking being nasty due to its origins, this argument suffers from the same flaws. To some, make me seem nasty due to the fact that it can come out of cow's utters, but to others, it most certainly doesn't. Thus, the flaw in my opponent's case is still the matter of "subjectivity."

Furthermore, his argument goes about assuming that milk can only come from cows, but this is false too. Many of you may realize that milk is produced by other living creatures, but it can also be artificially produced. Furthermore, even in cow milk, milk producers put it through the process of pasteurization (a process which eliminates all harmful bacteria) before selling it to the market.

I now stand ready for my opponent's final rebuttal.

Pro lost becasue
A. No sources were presented.
B. Pro did not refute Con.
C. Cows were the only thing presented, where as Con pointed out there are other "types" of milk than just cows.
D. Pro presented only oppinions, and no real reasoning why Pro's oppinions were superior.

Con wins hands down. There may some nasty stuff in milk, but you could say that about anything you drink. Milk is still one of my favorites regardless.

Ok so heres how it works. The Pro team is referred to has the house and the con is referred to as the opposition team. The Pro team has to come up with a case that falls under the resolution and the opposition team must counter that case.

So resolutions are commonly phrased a propositions like,

"The United States would drastically change its foreign policy with China"

at which point you would have to think of a case that would drastically change foreign policy with China and still be good.

But they also word resolutions in really loose ways. So for an example here are some resolutions from a tournament in South Dakota that happened this year.

1. This house would fix the electoral college.
2. This house believes good fences make good neighbors.
3. This house believes the princess is in another castle.
4. This house would pull a rabbit out of a hat.
5. This house would let the sleeping bunnies lay.
6. This house would destroy the monroe doctrine.

These each represent a resolution and you'd have to make a case off of them. I don't believe this house has to represent the United States though. I know debaters use representational cases. For instance in scenario 4 above a debater might actually do a magic trick and then show advantages in round to how it was good.
