Your job is to argue that the current voting age should be, both logically and morally, kept the same.

I will argue that the minimum voting age shouldn't exist at all.

500 characters max, and ten munites to argue. Think of it of as a speed debate.

In voting, many underage kids do not realize the gravity of them voting for one candidate or another. One candidate could have detrimental effects on the country they are voting in.

Take for example something like the US government. Anyone can say whatever they want, communist or fascist.

Anyone currently above the age of eighteen can vote but so many of them just vote for what their friends and family do instead of receiving and making their own decisions. That is more a matter of the individual rather than age. Where as I was having in depth political conversations by the age of seven. While Maturity is expanded upon in growing up, a voting age still keeps those who could vote from having any say in their own lives politically.

Depending on the upbringing, kids can be swayed from a young age with republican or democratic views.

It's well known fact by now that things you learn at a young age can get entrained in your brain if they're hammered in enough. Just take this study for example.

Most adults retain their views from childhood, rather then ever making their own. Hence why most states largely fall red or blue.

Any voting age negates the basic rights of citizens of the country. Why should someone be held to the law at all if they cannot have representation?

There are 73 million minors in the us how cannot have any say in their own government.

Voting age regulates that people are fit to vote, and can make educated decisions. Children under 10 and even up to 14 depend on major figures in their lives. Many kids from my school could care less and would just vote blue because all of the authority in their lives are democratic, without looking at facts and forming an opinion of their own.

Mainstream media also plays a role, but much less than authority figures in these kids' lives.

Reasons for voting decision: My reason is Pro just made a little bit better argument on why we should have voting ages. It's why we need Drinking ages and have 16 years old to have permits to drive, Con could have a better argument if they say a number like 16 and stick to why it could be beneficial for them to vote. but saying almost any age could vote, would not be helpful to this country because they don't understand what they are voting for.
