Have you ever wondered why there are so many religions even though the Bible claims that there is only one God?
Would human society be calmer if there was only one religion that is centered around one God?
My opinion is yes it would
but what do you believe?
Please share your thoughts.

Greetings.

The notion One God = one religion, a totally absurd notion. The Bible translation of the T'NaCH (Torah/Prophets/Writings) colored by the Xtian and Islamic worship of alien Gods makes no sense what so ever. Neither the Bible translations nor the Koran ever once bring the Name of the God of Israel. This directly violates the 1st Commandment of Sinai. The 2nd Commandment: Do not worship other Gods. The inference to this commandment, if other Gods do not live then why the necessity for this commandment? The entire liturature of the Torah and Prophets addresses the inclination of the ancient Israelites to worship other Gods. The sending of Moses to Egypt and the ensuing plagues the God of Israel made war upon the Gods of Egypt.

When Yehoshua brought the Israelite 12 tribes across the Jordan river, the first act of that prophet - to remember the deliverance of Egypt through keeping the Passover. This entailed circumcising all males. After that Israel swore the oath at Gilgal. Keep the Torah commandments and the God of Israel shall fight the Gods of Canaan just as did occur in Egypt in the days of Moshe.

An alliance requires makeing an oath. A Torah oath, based upon the floods of Noah 10 generations following the exile of Adam from his original homelands called Eden (Did Adam swear and violate an alliance oath with the God of Israel?) The Talmud of tractate Sanhedrin teaches that false oaths caused the floods that obliterated 10 generations of the soul of Adam - whose life clearly did not lmit itself to that lone individual. The concept of world to come shares a direct linkage to the human soul. Adam did not die after he profaned the commandment to obey. 10 generations of Adam died in 1 day. From hear Jews learn that a Torah oath alliance (called brit) that its cut upon the soul of Man. That the soul of man includes all the generations born from this man! For example: Avram had no children when he cut the oath brit alliance known as the brit between the pieces. Clearly having no children the commandment of circumcision did not apply. What then did Avram cut that brit upon? The birth and ives of all the generations of his seed born into the future - called O'lam Ha'bah. A Torah brit alliance - its cut upon the soul of that man making the alliance; the soul of that man making the alliance includes all the generations born into the future. Herein links the stories of Adam, Noah, and Avraham.

The liturature of the Jewish people views the descendents of Avraham who inherited the oath sworn lands - clearly this excluded the seed of Ismael based upon the command Sarah issued to her husband to drive out the bond woman, that her son would not inherit the oath alliance brit faith. Avraham not only sent Hagar and Ismael away but he did the exact same thing with all the children born to him following the demise of Sarah his wife. I find it most interesting that neither the new testament nor the koran once considers the concept of the oath brit alliance.

The translation of convenant for brit, compares to the translation of Lord or Allah for the Name of the God of Israel. The idolatry of the golden calf learns from the error wherein some of Israel translated the Name of the God of Israel into another word. The Book of John declares: that the word is God. But Jews do not pronounce the Name of the God of Israel according to the grammer of its 4 letters because HaShem/the Name, lives as the Spirit of life and pronouncing the Name as a word profanes this Spirituality.

The limitation of monotheism to the Hebrew liturature - an error popular by the strict monotheism of Islam and to a lesser degree by the church with its absurd trinity ideas of idolatry - confuses the chicken with the eggs. The ancient Israelites preceeded by thousands of years the post Jewish exile Xtian and Muslim religions. Hebrew liturature hatched the eggs we know today as Xtianity and Islam and not the reverse.

The entire prophetic liturature of the T'NaCH has an open conflict throughout with the evil inclination of the "lucky" offspring to profane the oaths sworn by Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What oaths did these fathers of the Jewish people swear? Not a single Xtian believer or Muslim believer knows!! Clearly if outsider foreign aliens, irregardless what they proclaim and believe, do not know the oaths sworn by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, these outsider foreign alien religions can not follow within the destiny walk established by the oaths sworn by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

When these fathers of the Jewish people lived, the idea of monotheism and one religion did not exist.

Jesus messiah of his generation. What utter and total none sense. Moshe anointed Aaron, this substitution theology - that's what both Korach and Yerov'am did. All the kings of Israel walked in the error which Yerov'am made wherein he sought to replace the Moshiach house of Aaron with whom ever he so pleased. Yuk. You worship avoda zara.

"""Wake up to the truth! And stop harassing me and saying I don't know Hebrew!"""

My native Israeli daughter gives me hell for my grammer mistakes in Hebrew. Have lived in Israel since 1991 straight. I live in Beer Sheva with almost no American speakers. None the less Israelis immediately recognize that i am from America. I can not change my Texas southern accent. An American speaking Hebrew, its funny even for me to listen to.

You say Xtians are impressed with your Hebrew skills. Please remind me when such a claim merits awe and respect. LOL

"""I call Christians brothers and sister because they are such, and deserve such."""

Bunk. The Shoah did not just happen as a freak occurance. 2000 years of church violence slander and oppression of the Jewish people resulted in the "fulfillment of Jesus son of Zeus's words: by their fruits you shall know them".
