The better one is the orchestra. Orchestra can play so many different types of music and there is way more styles orchestra can do. Also, the orchestra is harder. In orchestra, you have to learn exactly where to place your fingers and you also have to learn how to bow correctly. So does anyone think band is better?

I accept your challenge.

I think a band is better they have more styles. Furthermore, most instruments in an Orchestra can also be found in a band, like trumpets, piano, etc. etc. In a band, you have more freedom, because as you said, they have to have a layout in an orchestra, and it is very formal. In a band, you have a lighter atmosphere with no fixed layout. They also sound nice... at times.

I disagree with band having more styles. Orchestra can have a mixture of soft and loud while band is mostly loud and is rarely soft. There is also a lot of styles orchestra students can do with our bowing and also vibrato. (OH and btw, trumpets aren't a part of orchestra unless your talking about a full orchestra)
