The thought of having to go to school on the day of your birthday destroys your birthday joy. When its a persons birthday they should have fun and do what they want to do even if its just chilling in their bed all day. i think that secondary school students should have the birthday happiness they deserve by not going to school and having the day they want to.
Just because it happens to be your birthday, you shouldn't suddenly be exempt from you 'obligatory' education. It's agreeable that having to go to school isn't the first thing you've got on your birthday wish-list, but it's a fact of life that you will have to engage in activities that you don't necessarily enjoy. Imagine if you had an exam on your birthday: would you demand it to be moved to another day, just because today happens to be the day you were born? Demanding that birthdays should be a good reason to skip school is ridiculous and moderately selfish and would actually cause more of a disruption in the education system than anything else. |
