Progressivism is like a religion, minus the god. Do you accept the challenge?
Debate Round No. 1

Progressive views have become prescriptive. They have become a moral structure to provide meaning and guidance in the place of a religion. When political beliefs start to explain why bad things happen to good people, or accepting unproven or subjective versions of ethics, they are morphing into something closer to faith.

Holy books? Oh yes. Get into a debate with a Progressive and you will many times have Marxist scripture or Marxist philosophy tossed at you from one of Karl Marx's books.

Obama quotes Marxist concepts in speech-

Obama preaches to Christians about speech and love-

In the Quran and the Bible it gives definitions of sinners/infidels/unbelievers and condemns them as a collective whole.

And then over 60 million Progressives voted for Hillary Clinton who was met with applause when she said,

"You could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, name it."

-Hillary Clinton

She went on to call them "irredeemable".

There is a sort of orthodoxy required among liberals. Do you believe in climate change? What about the gender pay gap? Those who do not agree often find themselves exiled, not just from the sheep fold, but from the conversation completely.

1)Cimatologists disagree on climate change data and whether anything is manmade, or if we can even do anything about it. Climate is so complex that we have never observed another climated planet, well suited for human life, in deep space.

Some of the hottest periods recorded were when CO2 was low, and some of the coolest periods recorded were when CO2 was high.

Most of the worst hurricanes in recorded history happened pre-Industrial Revolution.

Progressives and for example, John Kerry, will even pull out the religious "Pascal's Wager" on you if you have any doubt. If We're Wrong on Climate Change, 'What's the Worst That Can Happen? But are wrong..."

2)The Sexist Gender Pay Gap-

The gender pay gap debunking is right there, but will libs hear it? No. No. No. No....

Confirmation bias, generally thought to be a trait of religious people, is riddled all over Progressivism. Facts, evidence, or lack of evidence, will not stand in the way!

I personally have no concrete opinion on climate change. Why? Because it isn't a religious concept to me. Whatever is true is true, but I dont tell you things are facts when even Climatogoists say it is very, very complicated. Even meteorologists will be dead wrong on weather for the day, wrong on the temperature, and be wrong on the path of a hurricane. Sometimes they predict a tornado that never manifests, and other times, they do not predict a tornado that does manifest. Why? Climatology can be unpredictable and difficult to pin down.

Conservative speakers who have attempted to give speeches at colleges have many times been met with constant boos, chants, shoutdowns, forms of intimidation, and even violence.

Strangely enough, Louis Farrakhan, who says "Hitler was a good man" & " White people deserve to die", and the former President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who says "Israel must be wiped off the map" & "Jews are apes and pigs" have both never been challenged by Progressives in any setting, including colleges. This is the result of childhood religious-like brainwashing. It screams Orwellian Doublethink from the rooftops.

--Gay Conservative threatened--

The event at UC Berkeley for Conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos was canceled. Why? Progressives became violent in protest, began destroying buildings and cars, and set them on fire. The damage was estimayed at over $100,000.

--Female Conservative threatened--

Anne Coulter has had multiple speaking events cancelled because of Progressive threats of violence and death threats.

--Jewish Conservative threatened--

Ben Shapiro gets constant death threats and threats of violence at events he speaks at. One event of his cleared the balcony for fears that Progressives were going to hurl things and hurt or kill those below.

According to national polls, Fifty-one percent of all U.S. college students believe shouting is an acceptable response to free speech, and one in five (19 percent) believe violence is an acceptable response.

So if you take out the Conservative students, it's clear that almost all Progressive students believe shoutdowns & screaming & yelling are fine if you disagree with someone, and many believe violence is appropriate.

When you cannot hear opposing views withoit a meltdown; when you get violent simply at the thought of an opposing view; when you believe things exist that don't, like safe spaces, you are a religious extremist.
