Religion... Tool of A Tyrants?

Its a familiar scenario, a people have been in there corner of the world surviving just fine, to there own standards .Living a lifestyle they have for eons, then without warning they come...a "Bazaro World" image of the inhabitants of the native peoples. First they ask for your assistance as they say that they are either lost or in need of supplies food etc. At most the natives are curious to these "visitors" (they wont be visitors for long!) , and they assit the best they know how. Once the visitors are seemingly well to do, the natives are curious to know more about them, for there clouting, speech , or assesories are things that they have not laid eyes on. The visitors go on to explain the grandiose land they come from , and how that the natives can have this too. Naturally the natives are curious, and want these thing of which the visitors speak. So the are eager students in the gospel of the visitors. The visitors well first point out that all this can be had with a submission to God, and at first all it takes is to believe, in the stories and act preformed in the bible. Next comes the breaking of all former rituals, as they are deemed evil, or heathenism. This is to create a divide or separation in the native group. After wills have been broken and minds thoroughly washed, in comes reinforcement and addiction. Addiction to the "gifts" given by the visitors, at first as an example, now held in front of them like a carrot in front of the blindfolded mule. The people will follow, and indure hardship because it was stated in the bible that meek shall inherit the Earth. Thats odd because the already did. Now constricted to these new rules and ways, the people are changed, easier to shepherd....and easier to fleece!

This topic isnt going to be one where I am going to debate because I agree with what you are saying. These that are in power have always used relgion as a tool to placate and conquer the masses as a way to maintain the status quo.
And those who fall prey to their brain washing go along meekly for they believe that in the hereafter there will be a better life waiting for them on the other side.....yeah ok! But like i said I agree with your arguement.....have a good nite!
