NO ALL CHiLDREN IS NOT MATURE ENOUGH AND MOST PPL WHO DO NOT VOTE DONT KNOW ABOUT THE ELECTION PROCESS.
Ok first of all I will fix your opening argument. "NO ALL CHiLDREN IS NOT MATURE ENOUGH AND MOST PPL WHO DO NOT VOTE DONT KNOW ABOUT THE ELECTION PROCESS." "The answer to the question is no voting should not be mandatory. Not all children are mature enough to cast a vote, and most of the people who choose to not to vote make the choice because they do not know enough about the election process. There we go much better, first of all I will point out I personally am 100% opposed to mandatory voting. In fact I think that we should issue a IQ test before voting but that would make it way to hard for Obama or Hillary or liberal nominees in general. Ok first thing is first "not all children are mature enough to cast a vote" according to the laws in this country in order to vote you must be 18 years of age. Eighteen is the point in time when a child is now legally and adult so your point about children not being mature enough is moronic children do not vote. "and most of the people who choose to not to vote make the choice because they do not know enough about the election process." Well, that in fact may be a true statement but that is the point of high school, generally speaking by the age eighteen you should be old enough to know where you stand as far as politics are concerned. |

JanaeS5 forfeited this round.
Well, I guess that is that..... my opponent was eleven years old so I give her credit for even being interested in a debate website. |

Can't you be born a citizen?
The resolution states voting should be mandatory for ALL US citizens, therefore age doesn't matter...
I for one, don't want a three year old voting for our future President.
Did anyone else notice that? Or am I just thinking wrong.lol.
-Alexander
pro, not horrible considering your oponent, but you kinda conceeded with the part about the iq test.
not a good round, but one of the people was 11, so ill let it go.
she made two valid points.
first, not all people are mature enough to vote -- just because someone reaches the magical age of 18, it does not mean that they're suddenly an "adult" and are mature enough to understand our voting process. many people of voting age are still immature children. thus, they should have the opportunity to vote, but it shouldn't be mandated.
second, many people are ill-informed about the election process. these people may choose not to vote as they may feel they are incapable of making the right decision. their choice to allow other, more well-informed people to make that decision for them is just that... THEIR choice. the government shouldn't force them into making a decision if they feel they aren't well enough educated about the issues and our election process.
cut the girl a break, she's 11. so maybe she wasn't as eloquent as you are? well, kudos to her for being able to make two really solid arguments against the topic.
JL never said he was going to correctly fixed the sentence with grammatical perfection. He was simply turning it into something readable.
The Cons opening argument was ""NO ALL CHiLDREN IS NOT MATURE ENOUGH AND MOST PPL WHO DO NOT VOTE DONT KNOW ABOUT THE ELECTION PROCESS."
and she never typed another word the entire debate....don't be an idiot.
With that said, I think you provided a horrible argument in this debate. I'd elabrate, but I think your performance speaks for itself.
"Ok COMMA first of all COMMA I will fix your opening argument.
"NO ALL CHiLDREN IS NOT MATURE ENOUGH AND MOST PPL WHO DO NOT VOTE DONT KNOW ABOUT THE ELECTION PROCESS."
"The answer to the question is COMMA no COMMA voting should not be mandatory. Not all children are mature enough to cast a vote, and most of the people who choose to not to STRIKE THE TO vote make the choice because they do not know enough about the election process.
There we go COMMA much better, SHOULD BE A SEMI COLON first of all COMMA I will point out I personally am 100% opposed to mandatory voting. In fact COMMA I think that we should issue a IQ test before voting COMMA but that would make it way to TOO* hard for Obama or Hillary or liberal nominees in general.
Ok COMMA first thing is first COMMA "not all children are mature enough to cast a voteSEMICOLON" according to the laws in this country in order to vote you must be 18 years of age. Eighteen is the point in time when a child is now STRIKE NOW legally and adult COMMA so your point about children not being mature enough is moronicSEMICOLON children do not vote.
"and most of the people who choose to not to vote make the choice because they do not know enough about the election process."
