I believe that Assault Rifles should be banned because they are an ASSAULT weapon and civilians do not need a military rifle for defense or hunting.
Okay, before we begin, I would need to know what your definition of an "Assault weapon" is. One thing many people believe is that the AR in AR-15 stands for "Assault Rifle" or "Automatic Rifle." It does not. It stands for ArmaLite, after the company that designed the weapon. As for fully automatic weapons, they were outlawed in 1986. Over 30 years ago. If you are referring to AR-15s, and other weapons similar to it, They have no military characteristics. They were designed for civilian use. The Military does not use civilian grade weapons. They only similar thing that military grade weapons and civilian grade weapons hold is that they look similar. There is only two differences between an AR-15, and say, a semi-automatic hunting rifle like the Ruger Model 44. That one difference is that they look different, and they are chambered in different Calibers. |

They are in fact military rifles and they should not be sold to civilians and they were outlawed by Bill Clinton and then made legal because of a lunatic (Bush) . What is your point? keep assault weapons and keep gun violence?
