Students should be exposed to new environments. There are many negative things children are exposed to. With students taking specials, they have an opportunity to learn new things about such topics. Many people have succeeded thanks to having these specials as a child. Although I believe if children don't have these, they won't succeed; children should have a little background behind this. Many people find their true talents with these classes. Children also engage and learn to work with other in a different way than when they are working with subjects such as reading or math.
