Shariah law is incompatible with the west. It is sexist and kills people for being gay and for leaving Islam. Even though Islam translates to peace, saying Islam is peaceful because of it's name is just like saying the Democratic people's republic of Korea (North Korea) is a democracy because of IT'S name.

The idea that religious law is incompatible with the west is nuts.

We have something called freedom of religion in America. The Constitution demands that people be allowed to practice their religions with no preference from the government. Therefore Con's claim is anti-western and incompatible with western ideals.

Sharia law is no different from Kosher rules. If someone chooses not to drink or eat pork or wear a head scarf, what's anyone else supposed to do? People should be forced to eat pork?

Sharia law doesn't have anything to do with terrorism or extremism. Islam has been around for a thousand years, whereas islamist extremism has been around since the 1980s. It's not sharia law.

Con states that calling a religion peaceful doesn't make it so, which is true. So it's also true that calling murder and terrorism sharia law doesn't make it sharia. If it does, then we can say that Westboro Baptist Church typifies Christianity because they declare themselves to be Christians.

The US has freedom of religion.

Shariah law is forcing everyone to abide by Shariah law. If someone wants to pray to mecca 5x daily, fine, but it would and should be illegal to force anyone else to do it. If someone wants to not eat pork fine, but they shouldn't be forcing other people to abide by the same religious laws.

If Shariah law demands that you must kill people for being gay or for converting, or subjects a woman to lashings for not wearing a veil (which is the law in many Muslim majority countries and in countries that have shariah law), then it contradicts the constitution.

In areas where Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) is prevalent (even though there are only 70 WBC people), (https://en.wikipedia.org...), they aren't violent about their beliefs. ISIS militantly kills those who they disagree with, all WBC does is protest peacefully, hate speech, but without any property damage, gunshots, or death.

Shariah law is forcing everyone to abide by Shariah law"
Not actually up to you.

For the purposes of this debate, let's say there are two kinds of Shariah Law:

1) Mandated by force in some way, as through violence (ISIS) or as the basis of a legal system (ie Saudi Arabia)
2) mandated for followers of Islam in order to be part of that group.

Both versions have millions of followers. Acceptance of #2 is required by the constitution. How do you figure this is not Sharia Law? Are you a scholar on Islam?

The west should not accept Shariah law #1. Shariah law #2 is just a strict mosque.

I am not a scholar of Islam. I am a Christian. However, the Quran sais that Muslims may lie about their beliefs to non believers and then allows the Muslims to kill the non believers by surprise.

In other words, since the Muslim scholars could be lying to me since their god allows them to lie to deceive non Muslims, I don't know if they are telling the truth.

The Bible says that some people who claim to be Christians are in fact false prophets. Therefore what you say cannot be trusted, because God says you may be speaking falsely. By saying that freedom of religion can't be allowed, you are spreading anti-western, unconstitutional ideas that are incompatible with the west.

The Bible says people that accept god with their lips and reject him by their lifestyle are hypocrites.

The Bible says, (Accept Jesus Christ. If you see someone who isn't Christian, hate the sin, love the sinner.).

The Quran says, (Accept Muhammad. If you see someone who isn't Muslim, slay the infidels wherever you find him.).
