I personally think free wifi should be a thing because not everybody has wifi or data.


Ok to start off, I see what you are saying, and it could, in a perfect world, be helpful. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world. First off we have to get some baggage out of the way such as are these free wifi stations ran privately or by the government. Second, you have to take into account the amount of money it would take to open new networks to operate these 24/7 and be able to technically be able to support 300 million people, and that is easier said than done. Finally you have to also see the fact that as these wifi networks would have to be so large that would have a lot of opening for mass hacking that could prove to extremely devastating.
