I believe that Maths should be made compulsory as it is a basic life skill that everyone should have and it is basically a necessary skill to have when functioning in society

I fully agree with Mathematics being a basic skill in life, but there is a fine line between basic arithmetic and advanced Mathematics that we learn, for instance why would a carpenter need to learn calculus or trigonometry?
