Just helping you practice. I say school metal detectors are a way to help increase security in schools. they can detect weapons and then the alleged student can be searched. This can save students from impending doom.
if someone has a bomb in their backpack no one will know. you may be flanking a threat but will run or be shot before they could be stopped, you'd never know what hit you
By increasing security, not only will the children feel safer, but the parents will feel comforted to know that schools have upped their security protocol. this can ease tension, helping students concentrate on school, and parents on their jobs, especially in areas that have already experienced school shootings/attacks, like Connecticut's Sandy Hook elementary school.
feeling safer does nothing for safety. at the sandy hook school shooting the attacker shot his way into the school with no intention of putting his gun down for a pat-down or going through a metal detector. if another shooter had his ideas anyone at the bottle-neck this would cause would be dead and anyone who approached him would be the same. without metal detectors students could get out of there and/or not be there in the first place.
With the ever growing number of violence cases each year, it is only logical to beef up the security. We must have a better security system, and having a metal detector is one of the better ways to add security to schools.
