I noticed you would not support our government in the building and modifications of a missile defense system. I completely disagree on this subject and believe it is imperitive that we as Americans are safe in our home. Not only could a missile defense system save thousands if not millions of lives, it could prevent America from a future international conflict. If the enemies knew we had such a system, missiles may never even be targeted at us. What say you?

Alright, thank you for extending this debate to me. I seem to be getting more and more challenges lately, that makes me happy. =)

So first we have a problem. How exactly do you intend to build a missile defense system? What you are suggesting is stopping something moving faster than a bullet. How can this be done? Its like attempting to shoot a bullet out of the air, nearly impossible. It is a waste of money and a waste of time.

Secondly. I would like to reference a quote from Albert Einstein.

"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."

I stand in accordance with this quote because I obviously feel it is true. What we need to do as a people is prevent war. To realize that we are all a part of the same world, all a part of the same people. How do you propose to do this when we are attempting to create a missile defense system. Such a system clearly shows that we consider the rest of the world to be a threat and that we are not unified with them.

That is dejecting, I thought this would be really interesting. I would like to quickly clarify and expand on everything.

First, I asked my opponent many questions and stated my own case regarding why a missile defense system would not work. My opponent not only declined me answers but did not actually uphold his own burden of proof and prove how the system would/could work. Thus my opponents case has exactly 0 solvency and cannot be voted for.

Secondly, I stemmed the other part of my case from Einsteins quote. My intention with this would have been to advocate working towards world peace instead of building up defenses. However since my opponent offers no refutation I suppose this point would be unneeded.

Thank whoever votes for wasting a couple moments of your time to do so. =)

how does someone get 11 VOTES when they only had an opening??? RFD's should be required

i vote CON, because the pro only made an opening. and that only had the reason why he started it, and a thesis. no argument, no evidence, no explanation.

I think it's ridiculous and I'm wondering why folks are voting in this manner. I think if all/most of your direct challenges are going this way, it's safe to assume the person(s) involved is/are targeting you specifically. I'm sorry about that, as you don't deserve it.
