Why are you against the war on terrorism? Are you against terrorism? We must fight terrorism. We cannot let it take over us. I don't believe in the War in Iraq, but I do think that we must fight to eradicate terrorism. The world can't live in peace if terrorism isn't taken care of once and for all. We must fight if we want peace.

First off yes I am against terrorism. But I am also against the war meant to eradicate terrorism that is because the whole idea is complete and total stupidity. Terrorism is a word, a concept, an idea you can't fight an idea terrorism is just something that pops into someone's head when they've had enough and see no other option and you know what they've had enough of? Us. And thats because we're doing way to much over there which includes trying to convert their country and using up their national resources.

One more thing in your first statement you said <> You contradicted yourself because the war against terrorism is for the most part in Iraq making the war in Iraq and the war against terrorism one in the same. So I want to know what is your true stand point are you for of against the war on terrorism.

(also to all the stubborn people don't just vote blindly because you're for the war actually read this.)

Obviously because phunkboy123 did not respond it means I was right in thinking he was for the war in Iraq. Also this was never a debate in the first place just a question he wanted to ask all I had to do was answer it an it was doomed to fail.

Sorry I couldn't post my argument in time. I was sort of busy.

Now for the debate.

You say that "Also this was never a debate in the first place just a question he wanted to ask all I had to do was answer it an it was doomed to fail." How could I ask you anything? I don't know where you are or where you live.

Now I am for the war on terrorism. Terrorism is a choice that needs to be chosen to be true. There is always a choice other than terrorism. You say you are against the war. Did you have relatives in New York on 9/11? If you did would you feel the same about the war on terrorism?

If we don't try to stop terrorism, then next time it might be your family members who get killed because a man decides that he wants to commit suicide. "Terrorism is a word, a concept, an idea you can't fight an idea terrorism is just something that pops into someone's head when they've had enough and see no other option" Are you saying that 9/11 was because some suicide bombers had no other options and decided to take out innocent people that didn't do anything to them?

I don't think so.

Correct, they are two different wars, but we are still in Iraq stabilizing a region filled with terrorists. My point stands, we cannot win a War on Terrorism, the same way we cannot defeat the Insurgency in Iraq. By killing and detaining one man, you can potentially infuriate an entire family. We are simply creating more problems in Iraq, and in other parts of the world.

War in Iraq and War on Terrorism are two completely different wars, here. They often get confused because of the Bush administration's adherence to the redneck, xenophobic, Bible-thumping rules of politics. The War in Iraq was about stabilizing the region and ending the regime of a suddenly uncooperative ally, though the (rather unintelligent, uneducated, and Republican) masses were fooled by the Bush administration into thinking that Hussein was, somehow, a threat to our nation.

I don't like it when people absolutely must resort to terrorism, but fighting a "war on terror" is silly. Wars on terror cannot be won, just ask the U.K, or Israel. Besides, by attacking Iraq, the U.S. is just making more enemies. I believe we could solve much more if people would sit down and just talk with each other.
