Abraham Lincoln once said this about welfare given to those who were willing to live off the labors of others , " In all ages of the world, some have labored, and others have, without labor, enjoyed a large portion of the fruits. This is wrong, and should not continue." But continue, it has up to the present day. Aliens who manage to make it across America's borders are then free to reap the harvest of all that the welfare system provides without any efforts on their part to exert themselves to furnish their own needs. Come one, come all, American workers who work for a living each and every day to support themselves and their families don't take offence at aliens taking the money that they work for and having the government take a chunk out of their wages to furnish, gratic, to you for your families maintance. And what were some of the costs of aliens extracted from working American citizens '.....82,679,000 of the welfare-takers lived in households where people were on Medicaid, said the Census Bureau. 51,471,000 were in households on food stamps. 22,526,000 were in the Women, Infants and Children program. 20,355,000 were in household on Supplemental Security Income. 13,267,000 lived in public housing or got housing subsidies. 5,442,000 got Temporary Assistance to Needy Families. 4,517,000 received other forms of federal cash assistance...."
Quoted figures from
"Welfare "
" Given that illegals tend to earn less money and live in poverty, they are also prone to use welfare. In Texas, for instance, 58 percent of illegal households collect some form of welfare, CIS reported, with 49 percent using food assistance and 41 percent using Medicaid. In California and Illinois, 55 percent use welfare. " And what were the costs to working Americans to educate these aliens
" CIS reported. Taxpayers provide some $40 billion to educate illegals and their offspring. "
Quotes from NEWAMERICA
Written by R. Cort Kirkwood
Thomas Sowell wrote in his book," AMERICAN EDUCATION" that one state, Oakland California, found that it was spending $ 7 million dollars annually to provide native-language instruction..."
"Cicero knew of what he spoke."
"We keep them in precarious balance only with our gold." J Carlton, Calgary wrote "Today's version: We keep them in precarious balance with Obamaphones, food stamps, "free" medicare, monthly welfare checks, public education...and on and on. The beginning of the end. Resolved: Aliens coming across America's borders illegally shouldn't be allowed to stay in this country and they shouldn't have access to any welfare benefits from state or federal agencies. Only those aliens who can prove that they will not have to receive Welfare in any form will be allowed to remain in this country and then only after entering this country through the legal channels provided for immigrants who wish to live in this country.
Debate Round No. 1

lookingattheissues response to CON , I'm waiting for con 's argument for Immigration , I'm saying that Immigration should be limited to those aliens that can prove they will be an asset to America, not just an addition to those living off of welfare.

America was based upon immigration (immigrants from the UK and all over the world). That link is symbolic because you think your race is superior and should not interact nor mix with the other inferior races, you racist pig.

I just reviewed my recent reply to CON and I see that I had duplicated a part of George Washington's Farewell Address... Sorry about that....

You have revealed your true colors by reverting to Name calling when you fall short on logic and as a true leftist democrat you then fall back on labeling those whom you disagree with. The reason for limiting immigration to this country are many and have been stated and none of the objectives of limiting the number of immigrants allowed into to this country has anything to do with the race of the immigrants.
Liberals seem to assume that, if you don't believe in their particular political solutions, then you don't really care about the people that they claim to want to help.
Thomas Sowell
The Democrats have used immigration and race to garner votes for themselves and have used both immigrants and racial division to further their own personal ambitions.
Its been said that "immigrants are just undocumented democrat voters "
George Washington in his farewell address said this about the people who had migrated to America ,"With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles. ..."
Reality for America today offers up a difficult conundrum that we have not seen fit to face. It is that half of America who pays almost no income taxes now have the political power to tax the other half and feel no compunction to reduce the size of government and its excessive expenditures."
From the book," National Suicide" by Martin L. Gross.

George Washington in his farewell address said this about the people who had migrated to America ,"With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles. ..." This is no longer can be said of America, we are divide by a flood of immigrants who for the most part have no inclination to become Americans and retain their loyalties to the countries which they came.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean " neither more nor less." When I submit a topic for debate, I too, mean nothing more, nothing less.

It has became apparent that there isn't a viable argument for allowing the continuance of America's lax policies towards immigration. The costs, both revealed and hidden costs of immigrants invading this country is too high to America and its working class citizens, this is the reason no one is interested in debating this issue with me the costs to this country and the dissolution of the country caused by immigrants loyalties to the countries from which they came are witnessed daily in protests against the government by them on this countries streets.

You posted,"To be fair, I suspect Abraham Lincoln was referring to the institution of slavery, in which a few wealthy slaveholders lived lives of ease on the backs of slave laborers.
While Abraham Lincoln was without question referring to the condition of slavery back then what he said is also applicable to working Americans today being forced by government to provide welfare to those who live off the labors of others.

Emilrose....You asked the question, 'So, are you arguing against welfare in general or illegal aliens receiving welfare."
lookingattheissues response: The terms," Welfare and alien"are semantic generic terms with different connotations depending on what the person is inferring when they use these terms.
In a book titled "FATAL MISCONCEPTION,"by Matthew Connelly, He suggests that immigrants /aliens, can be viewed in different ways, he writes the following,' was migration akin to trade or invasion? Were migrants like commodities or like weapons..."
Welfare used as a weapon, "Cloward-Piven Strategy,"
" Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would "the rest of society" accept their demands ...."
Then to address the term "Alien," As a people, I have nothing against them, its their intent that determines how I feel towards them.

Thank you for taking an interest in my new topic and offering some suggestions to put my topic on Immigration in debate form, "Resolved: The US should not allow immigration" or something like that. That way, you could debate the merits of immigration." I will add additional wording to my original topic as you suggested, thanks for your help.
