Large corporations today use tools such as commercials and advertising to achieve their purposes. But what if one day the UN got together and decided they would make it internationally legal (and encouraged) for these corporations to train, build, and deploy private armies? In this debate I will be taking the against side, and expect my opponent to be polite and take this debate seriously that shows through strong arguments. This should be fun!

I'm accepting this debate. I support corporations the right to have their own security guards. Protection is necessary from thieves.

Take McDonalds for example. How would it benefit them to hire their own private armies? Giving this amount of power to an already powerful business would allow them to perform illegal actions undercover (such as spying on other corporations, assassinating corporate leaders etc.).

It would benefit McDonalds to have their own private army for protection against thieves. If the store owner also is armed and if all the employees are armed as well, McDonalds kindof would have their own army, it just would be a defensive army, and it wouldn't be obvious as the stereotypical army.

If they commit any illegal actions, then if caught, then they will be punished under the law of the country in which the crime took place.

Aren't they already allowed to do that?

The 2nd amendment kindof allows families to build armies made out of their own family members when defending a house from thieves and intruders.
