i don"t thing athletes are overpaid

Considering these people play sports for a living, I do not see this as an important roll to play in a community. There are many other more important jobs that are severely underpaid, while these athletes are being paid millions and millions of dollars.
Debate Round No. 1

people that are playing sports are risking their lives their bodies playing sports, they also only work as a sports player for 5-10 years on average and one blow to the right spot and you cant move for the rest of your life. In addition to risking their lives they support their community and stimulate the economy.(side note they also give significantly more money in ratio to their salaries than any other people.)

Why would anyone want to change anything? You are right that it is a matter of supply and demand. If people want to freely pay their own money to see elite athletes perform, and this triggers high salaries in a market setting, that is their business and no-one else"s. If they do not want to pay that money, the salary levels would dissipate - it is that simple. It is not the business of anyone 3rd party to interfere in that process because they are personally aggrieved, upset or envious about the inequities they personally perceive that this creates.

Simple answer: yes. Vastly, greatly, stupidly overpaid. Long answer: not technically. Oppressive economics/supply and demand necessitate certain careers getting vastly overpaid simply because demand is high and supply APPEARS to be little. Sports generate a lot of money, the athletes are paid lots of money. Not the way the world should be, but unfortunately the way it's set up until someone changes it.
