in my opinion, ethnic diversity is cool. some countries has many different diasporas that were historically established; so there are many representatives of different nationalities. obvious benefit is the ability of the nation to carry out large-scale projects, it also creates strong friendship.

I will define ethnicity as:
"A method of classification based upon a common trait of the population, such as a common heritage, a common culture, a shared language or dialect."

Different cultures and ethnicity can exist in unison, as in the United States which has often been described as a "melting pot". However, the United States is a relatively new country of sorts and also happens to be very large. In many cases, ethnic diversity can begin to dilute or eradicate the ethnicity of a certain area. Take for example the country of Macedonia. Worldwide, there are 1.4"2.5 million native speakers (Wikipedia, can give better source). Over the last several years, there have been protests and rising tensions between the Albanians living in the country and Macedonians. This culminated in a mob storming into Parliament and beating one pro-albanian member. Now of course, strict nationalism and hatred of other cultures is not necessarily justified. But perhaps this episode is representative of a larger issue.

That is: While ethnic diversity is not inherently bad, it can erode and dominate a minorities' pre-existing culture.

yes, of course, there is a posibility of protests and rising tensions between big diasporas. however these are results of bad governance strategy; and if the country have planned good strategy of internal policy, there would not be any problems. for instance, Amsterdam is a welcoming place for immigrants, there is approximately 178 different cultural backgrounds. when i mentioned strategy of interntal policy i meant offers of city to help people who are not speaking Dutch, also there is DRONGO festival (a celebration for multilingualism held at the Amsterdam Public Library).
