any atheist is a theist, for an atheist to exist

Let me start out by saying thank you for posting this, it does raise a good point about the reasons for being as things claim to be, and more pointedly - the concept of disbelief as a form of belief.

You're claiming that an atheist would not be able to identify themselves with atheism, if and only if they had no recollection of the existence of theism. This seems perfectly valid if were under the impression that atheism was a religion, it however is not.

Atheism is only called such to mean more literally, counter of theism, or non-theism. While arguing that a theistic viewpoint is the original keep prospective as to who begot whom.

For example: Before Christ were there any non-Christians? Of course there were, in fact, every person alive was a non-Christian.

So can we not broaden this to say that in the absence of theism there would still be atheism? We can.
Debate Round No. 1

disBelief is belief.. not non belief

you can say yes no or maybe to my claim that i am wearing a hat right now

so what is atheism with no theism to counter

I don't think you are quite understanding how this English is being used.
"Dis", "non", "a", and "un" all only say what something isn't.
For example: if your hat is to appear on your head, that gives you a clear image of it being there in any variety of ways. Now if your hat disappears, it is now not to appear on your head, so it would no longer be there, and means nothing else.

Please counter the claim that atheism can exist contrary to theism, without becoming in itself theism.

a soda is..

moron :)

atheism is a theism, a person that knows god exist is a gnostic, but can only be an atheist based on a theists view point that god tells the truth
