Summary >
some country like south Korea, German prevent mass media revealing criminals's face. this rule is base on even very terrible criminals have also their basic human right and consier cases he or she isn't a criminal just in case. a few weeks ago, a terrible serial killer was arrested who brutally killed 7 women in Korea. at first all media conceal his face. but many people extremly rage against him and one newspaper put his faces on itself. following that, it became most hot issue in Korea and adequate solution isn't deprived yet my opinion > i agree with revealing heavy criminal's faces if all investigation is done corretly and therea aren't any possibilty he or she is criminal. many killer really mind being shown their faces and personal information on media. this cruel killer keep the cool when he is caught but when he heard that all people show his faces, he was very shocked. this show us obviously the effect of reveaing faces. it must be powerful warning to killer who have hobby of killing
Firstly, I would like to thank my opponent for starting this debate and welcome him to this site. I should also like to point out that English is not my opponent's first language and that Latin script is not his usual form of writing, and I would ask the voters to take this into consideration when the debate is finished. Many countries, like South Korea, have laws that prevent the name or the photograph of the accused to be broadcast or printed by the media in order to protect the defendant and his family's privacy. This is right and proper in my opinion. It is the job of the courts, not the media or even the public, to determine someone's guilt. Once the trial is over and the accused is found guilty, then their details should be rightly disclosed to the public. However, if he is found innocent, he should be released without a stain on his character and be free to continue his life without the bearing the social stigma of having been previously accused of a serious criminal offence. Thank you. |

Thanks for understanding my handicap to debate becuase of language and sorry for being late to put my opinion
i partly agree with you to expose crminal's personal information have to follow proper process and rule but a few criminal repeat his or crime, especially sexual crime, even after they are punished when we consider these case, our discuss may reach out that punishment is by law isn't enough people should have right to avoid danger in advance by recognizing criminals someone might think it is inreasable stigma forever and assult human right. but i think punishment by public or media is also a kind of punishment even if it is informal and not correct. sometimes people are afraid of deterioration of his/her own reputation more than formal punishemt like fines, living in prison even death penalty following these cases, revealing criminal's personal information have enough effect to prevent same crime happended again and also can be chance to avoid to be sacrificed by crime in advance Thank you.
Arguments extended once more! |
