| Beliefs: | There's a lot of stuff in the world that I don't care about right now: gun control, abortion, the War on Drugs, etc. The list goes on and on! I mean, there are so many bad things happening in the world and the US is squabbling over whether or not we need a health care package. And people are surprised we're on the verge of going into recession. On the stuff I do care about: it's complicated. I find myself hating religion more and more each day, not because of its beliefs but because the people who believe those beliefs believe everyone should believe those beliefs. Follow me? And the very few things that I care about and DON'T involve religion in some form or another: my view is the popular consensus. I just had my opinion before everyone else. No, seriously! I've hated Bush, the War in the Middle East and Minority Discrimination ever since I knew they existed. Religion cannot be a valid argument in debates.
I am not saying that religion is a bad thing. On the contrary, it has inspired millions in both good and bad ways. But we're not here to argue about religion's effects. We're here to argue if you can or can't make a position based on blind faith. I'm taking for granted in this debate that in religion there is always some blind faith (Even scientists do not have all of the answers).
