Hey, my name is Blue. Yes, that's my real name. In the past few months, I've had a really hard time identifying what my sexual orientation is. After recent consideration, I've realized I'm gay. It's a real struggle for me to focus on other important aspects of my life - in this case, school - when I'm constantly worried about my masculinity. I've never been asked if I'm gay, although I do feel like people constantly ask themselves if I am. I know deep down my friends would be okay with it, especially knowing most of them are liberal. However, my parents, on the other hand, would not be. They're highly conservative and are super religious. Two big red flags. I'm afraid if I open up to them, they'll be ashamed and would belittle me. I'm wondering if I should open up or wait until I go to college (which will be next year)? Any advice would be helpful.

Blue M.
