Could it be said that altruism and selfishness is merely the seeking for the opportunity for the fulfillment of what is valued? In essence the same thing other than what is valued only to different paths for fulfillment. And the fulfillment of what is valued is still in the self-interest of the one who values, and therefore really within the definitions of selfishness. So, what is the intrinsic value of a thing or anything for that matter? And it certainly isn"t according to one who values, unless the one who values is the true one who sets a thing"s intrinsic value.
