How important is economic freedom to you? To me, it is the most important freedoms that we have. Unfortunately, here in America, it is being slowly chipped away.

Each year, the Heritage Foundation puts out the Index to Economic Freedom. http://www.heritage.org...

The top 5 nations are:

1) Hong Kong
2) Singapore
3) Australia
4) New Zealand
5) Switzerland.

It is interesting to note that the nations with more economic freedom, limited government, and low government corruption have lower unemployment rates, higher wage rates, and fare much better than nations in the bottom of the list.

So, how important is economic freedom to you?

Then I must point you to this thread:

As much as we all hate to admit it, malcomxy has the better sourced argument.

Are you willing to trade your social freedoms for economic freedoms? Cause that's what malcolm is saying is required to have less corruption.
The extinction of the species is worse than the extinction of the nation, which is worse than the extinction of the tribe, which is worse than the extinction of the family, which is worse than the extinction of the individual. The second he reverses that list of priorities, he becomes a coward, and would be summarily disposed of by any civilized society that values its own survival.

Economic freedom is just as important as any other kind of freedom.

If you don't have marriage freedom, you can't legally marry; if you don't have economic freedom, you can't eat.

Economic freedoms and social freedoms are completely intertwined. What good is freedom of the press if you're not allowed to buy paper, ink, or computers?

Just post whatever it is you want to post and be done with it, quit being overdramatic.

Tied with social freedoms and political freedoms.

Ya. It is pretty well known by anyone who knows anything about this that more economic freedom means higher incomes and higher standards of living. Goes against what a lot of progressives say, but that doesn't change reality.

Economic freedom cannot be taken away, it can only be relegated to the black market.

The two are nowhere near equivalents. The free market is a pareto optimal improvement from the black market.
