Pretty incredible that this made it to a vote and it failed by a close margin. Would have ended blanket data collecting on Americans not under investigation.
Failed 205 to 217 in bipartisan fashion.

Nice! (in that this was proposed)

Not Nice! (in that it failed)

Something I found interesting in one of your links:

"The debate prompted unlikely alliances in the House floor, with both House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and deeply conservative Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) voicing opposition to the amendment."

I would have thought both of them would have voted for something like this, Pelosi being progressive and Bachmann being libertarian (or so I thought).

My representative seems like one of the worst when it comes to the issue of civil liberties.
