racism - The belief that race determines the intrinsic value of a person.

Racism seems to be a topic that is coming up a lot lately:
Sarah Jeong, being hired by the NYT in spite of supposed racist tweets.
Roseanne fired for supposed racist tweets.
John Schnatter stepping down because of even talking about racism, being seen as racism.
President Trump's wall, immigration, and comments about illegal aliens being seen as racism.
And so on...

Racism in itself isn't bad or negative. It's particular actions that we view negatively that are taken on the basis or in part because of a perceived racism. We forget that racism can aid in good or positive actions. You could argue that it's generally party to more negative actions than positive actions, but even if that's true it doesn't dismiss them as a potential, and it's also because racism isn't generally associated with positive actions.

Is this belief true?
