It seems logical to me that there is nothing outside the natural, and that everything can be defined by that term. Even those things that are normally termed supernatural, like God .

It seems illogical to me that something could be/ work outside the laws of nature.

And, you would be right about that. So, whenever anyone claims the supernatural, they are in fact claiming the laws of nature have been violated.

I agree, and that is a ridiculous idea.

Yes let's not use terms people know and understand. Let's each use words for anything we want to and have no meaningful interactions with others if they can't figure out what you are trying to say. Makes sense

Yep. The idea of "supernatural" was a way to come up with excuses for not knowing things. Now we not only know more, we understand that NOT knowing is OK.

Well the natural world can be super unexciting and depressing. It's like when you're 8 years old staring intensely at a glass on the table, thinking, "The real world sucks. F*** that noise. Maybe I have superpowers like Matilda. Move the glass with my mind... move the glass... focus... focuuuuuuus... HRRRRNNNNGGGG..." (Plot twist: it didn't move.)

Oh no one else did that? Just me? Okay.

I find the natural world to be fascinating.

When I got a bit older I felt the same way, in spades. But I think what people tire of are all the limitations placed upon us by the natural world. Nothing can ever break the rules and so people can feel caged inside them. A supernatural event breaks the cage.

if you are so sure of yourself, why don't you research and debate my claims in the thread i made?
http://www.debate.org...

to be sure, there are a lot of hokey claims out there.... but i chose the arguments ive seen that stand up over time and that don't have good explanations.

For one thing, they aren't your claims, they are claims of others, which have already been refuted, perhaps you were sleeping.

And, your thread is full of them.

Hahahahaha! You mean, you don't understand the explanations or you just ignore them.

Do you believe God is bound by "the laws of nature"?
