Thoughts on social media's effects?

It has been said that the normal adult attention span is about the same as that of a goldfish. This has largely been blamed on society's excessive use of social media and new technology (such as the IPhone with YouTube, Twitter, Facebook etc.). Personally, I've seen the negative impacts of this excessive use in my own life with things like shortened attention span, neglect of responsibility, ignorance of personal health, and extreme narcissism.

Adapted to the times maybe. I suppose it might be testable, test people without internet and test people with.

Choose.....Hmm.... You can't always choose when other people build a brothel or a Walmart in your city. And sure you don't have to enter it. But once you're aware of it, it is a bit of the environment.

Choice is a funny thing. I've never done drugs, but I'm sure in cities where it is offered, some people choose to try them. And choose to try them more often the more they are offered or socially acceptable they are.
