For both the Special Olympics and women's sports, it depends on what the point is. If the point is to adapt the rules to disabilities or to segregate locker rooms, respectively, you may agree or disagree with it but at least it's a coherent argument. However, if the point is to give a chance to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to participate, it's akin to "who can whisper the loudest": if you're mildly disabled, a normal man who isn't gifted with excellent athleticism, you're out of luck, but if you're even more disabled, a woman or a cripple, you're able to participate and even win medals.
