A National Healthcare System in the United States?

thelemite
govchapman

My argument is that Universal Healthcare will have a devestating effect on the United States on many different levels. The economy would be ruined, individual freedom will be a thing of the past, and the best healthcare system in the world will be compromised. I look forward to debating this topic. I only ask that if you accept this debate that you be a citizen of the United States. Those outside the US have valid input, so please feel free to post your additions in the comments section. T...

the Liberal Media

I want to make sure I clarify what exactly I mean when I say that I am pro "the Liberal media" I am not taking the stance that I support the liberal media. All I am trying to say is that I believe the media has a very liberal bias. I believe most of the media with the rare exception of say, "Fox News" is very left leaning. In result the media mainly reports the bad news about the war and and they portray Conservatism as being some sort of bad thing and Liberalism as the answer to all of your pro...

Hello I think that having a national heath care system would be terrible. It would make our doctors offices/hospitals. There are many reasons why we shouldn't have it- 1)You wouldn't be able to choose your own doctor. This is very important. When people go to a doctor, they should feel comfortable going there and asking him personal questions. NOw, you meet a new doctor every time you get sick. You will never feel comfortable with that doctor, because you will see him for the first time,...

States with right-to-carry laws have lower overall violent crime rates, compared to states without right-to-carry laws. In states whose laws respect the citizen's right-to-carry guns for self defense the total violent crime is 13% lower, homicide is 3% lower, robbery is 26% lower and aggravated assault is 7% lower. (Data: Crime in the United States 1996, FBI Uniform Crime Reports) Right-to-carry license holders are more law-abiding than the general public. In Florida, for example, the firearm...

Should the U.S. adopt a universal health care system?

I would like to welcome all who decided to participate in, or watch this debate, I believe that as a country, we should embrace the thought of universal health care. We should feel a moral obligation to take care of those who are less fortunate. It is sad that in a country as wealthy as the United States of America, that 1 in 7 people do not have health insurance....
