Video Games do not increase or perpetuate juvenile violence

kweef

As Pro, I am advocating that video games do not increase or perpetuate violence. First Round: Case Presentation Second:Rebuttals Third:Voters 1. Statistics point to the Pro argument According to the FBI in 2009,The arrest rate for juvenile murders has fallen 71.9% between 1995 and 2008. The arrest rate for all juvenile violent crimes has declined 49.3%. In this same period, video game sales have more than quadrupled. The FBI statistics show that video game sales have been on the rise, w...

College Football should adopt a playoff system

kweef
socialpinko

To clarify, as Prp, I am advocating replacing the BCS Bowl system with a traditional playoff system. 1.Fairness Having a playoff system would eliminate the bias that is currently in place due to computer and human voting systems, therefore making sure every team is on equal ground, and allowing for the objective of winning and losing games. If a team loses one game, it is unlikely that they will be entered into the BCS title game, and if they lose two, they might not even get into a BCS ga...

Was George W. Bush good for America, and for the wider world?

kweef
RoyLatham

Structure is as follows: 1.Present arguments 2.Rebuttals 3.Voters I believe George W. Bush is NOT good for America, and the wider world for three reasons. 1. He did not win office in a democratic way 2.His policies leave much to be desired 3. Intelligence is not one of his virtues 1. He did not win office in a democratic way. It would seem that in a democratic society where citizens are allowed to vote, that they would get the final say in electing their leader, right? Not in th...

Should physician assisted suicide be legalized?

kweef
lgennarelli

The structure of the debate shall be as follows: 1.presenting arguments 2.rebuttals 3.voters This will not be an evidence heavy debate, as this is intended to be quick and thought provoking. " Physician Assisted Suicide-Someone provides an individual with the information, guidance, and means to take his or her own life with the intention that they will be used for this purpose. When it is a doctor who helps another person to kill themselves it is called "physician assisted suicide." 1...

Race, genes, IQ

Chuck11
kweef

Last year my brother called me a "racist" for pointing out that genes could mediate some of the US racial achievement gap, so, being a neurotic, I spend a number of months digging through the data and outlining the idea. (http://abc102.wordpress.com/) "Race, genes, and disparity." I found the idea to be plausible, but the evidence, while trending to support a partial genetic hypothesis, equivocal -- anyways, I'm looking for someone to debate the issue. The stipulation is that they read through s...
