Abolition of nuclear weapons: Is abolishing nuclear weapons a necessary moral act?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No, they can never be completely destroyed.

No, abolishing nuclear weapons is not a moral act, because some countries will always be determined to have them. With nuclear weapons, a country knows it can protect itself. Trying to abolish nuclear weapons will only protect the honest countries. Ultimately, it will make the world more dangerous to know some countries have no defenses.

  • You don't throw away your ace

I believe that in theory it would be but the problem is that if you get rid of nuclear weapons then you will lose the advantage you have on some factions that may have been behaving because they were scared. If nuclear weapons are taken away then the world could plunge back into massive genocides and war because there is not the fear of being out gunned.
