There are definitely people in poverty of all races. I am white and I have been very poor all my life. However, I believe that poverty affects minorities in the United States on a larger scale than white people. I believe that the reason probably has a lot to do with hundreds of years of discrimination.
When it comes to race and poverty, a large majority of us are affected by poverty. It's not something that just harms one race, although it can have large statistics on certain races, every race can suffer the affects of poverty. When we're born, a certain race isn't given the best things while others aren't. It's always based on how the parents lived their lives or what happened with them.
