• Yes, Guantanamo lawyers are being fairly criticized.

A lot of the detainees in Guantanamo were people who were caught in the battle field. A lot of them combatants. I think there were a lot of cases where the lawyers who represented some of the detainees in Guantanamo tried to take a political stance on their defenses rather than look at the facts.

  • No, every person deserves legal representation

These lawyers are doing their duty by defending Guantanamo detainees. These people deserve legal representation - its one of the founding principles of our democracy. Everyone has the right to a lawyer and a fair trial. And the lawyers certainly do not deserve any criticism for defending people who are innocent until proven guilty.

  • No, I don't believe the lawyers who represent the Guantanamo detainees are being criticized for a good reason.

I believe everyone should be able to get fair representation even those who are terrorists or enemies of the United States. I believe that nobody should be criticizing the lawyers for ensuring that these people are given a fair and honest trial and evaluation instead of being convicted with no legal representation.

  • Lawyers are just doing their jobs

The lawyers who are representing Gitmo detainees are just doing their jobs. They should not be criticized for it. Many of them probably do not like their client or their jobs. But they are doing what they have been asked to do and fullfilling a legal purpose that has been confirmed by the Federal Courts.

  • Lawyers that are representing Guatanamo detainees are not being criticized for a good reason.

Lawyers that are representing Guantanamo detainees are not being criticized for a good reason. They are just basically doing their job to the best of their abilities.People like to criticize them because their clients are not popular. The issue is if they don't get good representation then nobody really gets good representation.
