  • Intimidation and brainwashing prevents opposition of the Kim Regime

From a young age, citizens are imbued with an extreme sense of nationalism due to schooling and repetition of the national anthem(quite similarly to in the United States), being taught that North Korea is the "True Korea" and it is superior. While some people, often inspired by illicit western culture(such as smuggled films and recordings) may develop opinions against the government, harsh crackdown prevents these feeling from expanding. Opponents of the regime have been known to be placed in labor camps or to have family members imprisoned. The NK government has too tight a hold on the national media and prevents the spread of insubordination.
