Yes i agree the dust bowl can and could have been prevented. The reason it can and could have been prevented was farming, Overgrazing and sever drought. Even though we cannot stop a drought we can prevent bad farming and overgrazing. If everyone would have plowed the land by the way it curved and not get lazy and just do it their own way we would have not torn all of the roots up out of the ground. Another reason is overgrazing because the livestock ate all of the plants and ruined the ground as well. So in conclusion, If we would have not done horrible farming and moved the livestock from place to place we could have prevented the Dust Bowl.
It is clearly shown that with over cultivation the Dust Bowl occurred. However, the climate change also affected the way that water was distributed so no rain reached the Midwest. The drought, too much farming, and the Great Depression were all causes that could have stopped further damage. The end.
People have been before and if it happened again people should have learned and may have invented sand+dirt protection and its possible to achieve like anything and everything, everyone else did before in the past, future, and present! REMEMBER: If you believe, you can do anything you would want for the good or better!!!
You should use contour plowing. Not straight lines. Some crops use more nutrients than others. This is called crop rotation. Also farmers can not disturb the soil when not planting. They can also leave weeds so the soil don't turn to dust and blow away to start a new storm
As seen in the 1900's the dustbowl was man made due to us sending farmers to the west without the proper farming tools, due to the, farming constwntly they eroded the soil and made the dust pile up on the surface, as wind speeds sped up they picked up the dirt, which was caused by US humans farming, and created the 'black blizzard'. If you aren't aware of what the black blizzard is, its a dust bowl storm that went out of control in the 1900's due to farmers farming in the west. They farmed without native grasses and sooner lead to whole cities being burried in dust, many families were locked in their houses for days with the dust filled air. What we couldve done to prevent this? We couldve not spread west until we were able to start farming and planting native grasses, but instead we didnt, nowadays we would beable to because the only places with deserts are austrailia, africa, Egypt, and other places with deserts, here in the U.S we have deserts and dort but very rarily will any dust be picked up by wind because we have alot of grass. And with our ever expanding knowledge and our modern technology we would be able to prevent a dust bowl, as we are doing.

If everyone puts in thought, time and hard work,we can prevent another dust bowl we just need to improve on the farming, soil erosion and some other stuff, too. This would be a big help to the people that live in really dusty areas and that would be affected most by the dust bowl if it ever happened again.
People are given brains for this reason exactly--to use them to keep Earth functioning. We need to use crop rotation methods and generously irrigate the crops. If these things would have been done, the first Dust Bowl would almost absolutely not have taken place. Preventing things properly makes a large difference.
Yes ye e e e e e e e e e e e e e e elol e e e e e e agree e e e e e e e e e e e e irrigation must occur s s s s s s s s s s s
The dust bowl will never happen again if we do the right stuff. We need to take charge the dust bowl can't happen we need a plan. And if we use irrigation and plant rotation another dust bowl won't happen. We are at the top and we know what to do.
I am in college for science in marine life. I may not know much about the land but still. I say it couldn't have because the wind that picked up the dust and helped create a dust storm would not have been able to be prevented. While I agree partially that the land was destroyed by animals and farming, I still say no, dust storms cannot be prevented.
It's not something that can be prevented. It was a natural disaster that just occurred and everybody's getting worked up over it. Scientists say it will happen within the next 10 years, I highly doubt that and even another Dust Bowl happens, It may be worse, It may be not as bad. I think we just need to face it and move on.
I do not think that another Dust Bowl can be prevented. When the Dust Bowl happened, it was due to something that man kind could not help since it was a natural occurrence. I think that since it was a natural disaster, it will happen again. The only thing that can be prevented is the loss of agriculture.
I do not feel that it is completely impossible to prevent another Dust Bowl. The Midwest is hit by droughts quite often throughout the summer months and given the amount of agriculture and growing in the area I would say little is being done to prevent a Dust Bowl. It's just a matter of the right circumstances occuring and it will happen again.
Its mother nature that did this, the droughts caused crazy dust storms that went on for a week. I don't know how you would be able to stop something like this from happening. Nature is going to do what it wants to do, If you think you can stop it your mistaken.
It may not be able to be prevented, but we can get people out of the area of these dust storms and get them into safety. It would be amazing to be able to prevent these, but we cannot simply control the weather so easily. In the future it may be possible.
