Car plows into crowd at SXSW: Should SXSW security be tightened?

  • SXSW security should be tightened

SWXS security should be tightened so that no one is able to get close enough to plow into it with a car or any other vehicle. The safety of individuals is important and should be taken into consideration when added new security measures. The guards should also be able to use their best judgement when securing an area.

  • No, security couldn't do much to stop a speeding vehicle

No, security does not need to be tightened at SXSW due to a car plowing into the crowd. There isn't much that can be done to prevent situations like this, and no amount of on-site security personnel could have physically stopped a vehicle from entering into the crowd and causing injuries.

  • Car plows into crowd at SXSW: SXSW should not tighten security.

Car plows into crowd at SXSW: SXSW should not tighten security. Things happen sometimes that are out of control of anybody around. I do not think that tightening security measures will reduce things like this from happening. I think that this was just a pure accident that probably will not happen again.

  • No It Shouldn't

A car plowed through a place that was sectioned off at South by Southwest. I fail to see how an increase in security can stop a moving vehicle such as in the incident mentioned here. Security only does so much, it doesn't stop accidents such as this one. The security could have been double and this would have still happened.
