• Tom Cruise saved 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.'

Tom Cruise is one of the most popular action movie stars and has starred in numerous hit movies such as 'Mission Impossible.' He recently acted in the movie 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels' and once again his performance was exception. If Tom Cruise had not acted in the movie, it would not have been a success. You could say that he saved the movie.

  • Even a great actor can be dragged down by a bad script

No matter how good an actor Mr. Cruise may be, a poor script will hamstring even the best of performances. Such was the case with Mr Cruises performance in "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". A excellent acting job by Tom Cruise was unable to salvage the movie from the real of the mundane and forgettable.

  • Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels Didn't Need "Saving"

Though I do not know much about this topic, a simple search on IMDB will show you that the movie "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" received a score of 8.2/10 in 1998. So to say that Tom Cruise "saved" the movie, I believe is not only inaccurate but unfair to make that assumption.

  • Nothing could have saved "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels."

If you didn't know Tom Cruise was in "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels," you're not alone. One of Jason Statham's earlier films, it was another Guy Ritchie Brit-grunge comedy. Ritchie came down with one of the earliest cases of Tarantino-itis. It's a disease that afflicts filmmakers who read a few good reviews and fall in love with themselves, resulting in future films with tries-so-hard-to-be-cool dialogue that ends up leaving audiences with a crappy story.
