Do you think Americans should have Valentines Day off work?

  • Yes they should

Yes Americans should have a Valentine’s Day off work because we work way too hard and of course we need a break from or off work ok and yes I think that Americans do or should have a Valentine’s Day off work for good ok ok ok ok good bye

  • Valentine's day is a holiday

Valentine's day is considered a holiday so why not let people have it off of work and school? It is a special day so people should be free to spend the day with their loved ones couples should be able to spend time with each other without having to worry about working. I just think it would bring people closer

  • Let's Be More Like France, 'kay?

Seriously. French people have every damn holiday off and everyone loves France! They've got the whole fashion and food thing going on. If you ask me, we should have Valentine's Day AND all of the other Hallmark Holidays off of work. Then everyone will have more time to learn French and start slacking off like a true Frenchman. Honhonhonhon (That's "hahahahaha" in French).

  • Why Not Super Sunday, Election Day, 9/11

If Americans should have Valentines Day off work, then why not 9/11 or Super Bowl Sunday or Election Day? Having Valentines Day off is just another way to be lazy. Valentines Day isn't an official holiday because it's based on a pagan god of love. A more appropriate day off would be Election Day so no one can be docked pay for not showing up.

  • That's a stupid idea.

Of course not. Valentine's Day isn't a real holiday in any sense of the word. Aside from a bit of Catholic inspiration with the whole "saint" thing, it's just an excuse for people to go out on dates with their partners, buy cards, chocolates and flowers. Nothing about it should make it a real holiday.

  • No, it's not a major holiday.

Valentine's Day, like other February holidays such as Groundhog Day and Susan B. Anthony Day, is not a major holiday. There would be far too many official days off work if employers gave people every holiday on the calendar off. That being said, if people are allowed to take days off work, they could certainly choose to take that one off if they wished to.

  • Valentine's Day Not a Day of Rest

Americans should not be given the day off for Valentine's Day. While individual employees can request the day off, companies should not give every employee the day off. Doing so serves no purpose and would actually be a hinderance to many workers. Therefore, this idea could not be any worse.

  • No, of course not.

Valentine's Day in the first place is a made up and hyped up holiday used by companies and florists to sell silly things at high prices. It is nice to give someone you care about or are just friendly with a small token but that is the sum total of what this day should be. It should be a day to make people feel welcomed and not excluded.
