Steven hawking literally said that the voyager prode was a mistake.
Alien minds would be to alien with totally different cultures ideals and methods of communication. In short war could be common.
A.I.S will also be more deadly. The three laws of robotics are in place form true a.I. It's hard to fight a being you build to wage war.
Yes, I think that the Imperium of Warhammer 40,000 is possible in the far-distant future of humanity, because if life exists on other planets, we are going to need some kind of intergalactic management. We need to be able to communicate with other planets and represent ourselves in the appropriate fashion to the rest of the galaxy. It also sounds like fun.
The Imperium of Warhammer 40,000 is possible in the distant future of humanity as one person, a god-like figure, controls the rest of humanity using a psychic link. This is almost like a hive-mind complex, similar to the Borg from "Star Trek: The Next Generation." It's possible to have such a construct as humans become more and more dependent upon technology.
In short, no. The “Far Distant Future…” is based on too many concepts that
simply do not exist. The Eternal Emperor is kept alive by the sacrifice
of psychics who channel there energy to him. He sits on a massive
throne of machines that keep his organs working. From his throne he
commands vast armies that spread throughout the galaxy and battle
massive factions of the damned, the mutated, the alien and the living
The Imperium of Warhammer 40,000 does not seem like it could be possible in the distant future simply because that's not how things work in the real world. There would be too many people opposed to that thing happening, and they wouldn't be that dumb to fall for it in the future.
Warhammer 40k is a classic game that takes place in the distant future, but the wierd structure of the imperium does not make sense for humans today or in the distant future. While its impossible to say what will or won't work during that time period, this is fairly certain.
