  • Advertisement creates manipulate wants

First of all be very clear that advertising or marketing CAN NOT create needs, they can - "manipulate wants" , but they can not create needs

so advertising does not create needs , what advertising do is - "manipulate wants" and since you have asked "why" the answer is very simple - it is the job of advertising to promote products (& their benefits) and persuade potential consumers to buy it.

.... Well , it is true that becasue of competitive pressures advertisers cross the line of ethics quite frequently now a days, ... Few people misuse advertising for promoting products & try to sell them by making false claims about the product ... BUT the consumer purchases the product because he has the need and he is "made" to think (by the advertisements) that the product will satisfy the need ... This is wrong but this is not creating needs

advertising and advertisers make false claims about the products and services that that are selling ... Because .... In a country like India the judicial system is not so fast and companies know that by the time somebody will react the job will be completed ... So we see unnecessary and false advertising and by the time some consumer organization reacts to it ... The company already gets popularity and when court puts an "stay" the company accept it (very happily) because the job is done by that advertisement...

  • YES. They do...

Advertisements give us the urge to buy things we do not need in large numbers . They create awareness of their products and present it to us in a tempting manner . But the role of advertisements should be to provide products and services to satisfy our needs . . .

  • Of course it does !

We can say that advertising costs for a new product are as important as the cost of manufacturing it and this done for the sole purpose for creating artificial needs that consumers will wrongly perceive as being urgent when it is not! Through advertisements people are encouraged to buy things that they really do not need..

  • Yes artificial needs are created

A need to be accepted or desired or have a good image are all human nature. The concept that buying things will fulfill these desires is created by advertisements. Advertisements create an artificial reality in a persons mind by appealing to their human desire. They exploit minds to influence consumerism, creating a "need".

  • It makes you want things that yo don't need

In daily life people don't need an Iphone to make calls or send messages or to chat with their friends but the way such commodities are advertised makes it look like it is one of the most essential part of life . Advertisements bring your attention to things which were previously unknown to you and since you don't know anything about it and you depend on the facts given by the advertisement which may not be true and even misleading.

  • Of course it does

For example, Take a man. There is an ad on tv for a baby's diapers. As if he will were the diapers. Advertising creates income for the poor and also the rich too, But it is sadly a waste of time. This is my honest opinion. If agree, Put like.

  • Creates need to immature

Ads create needs to immature people.
Children now-a-days don't eat a food product because they love the taste, instead they are pushed to eat it with happiness through videos shown in ads and the colors used in the food.
That doesn't mean adults are mature, we all have that urge for new things, new life, we just don't get it easily. We are lazy, so we move towards these things, thinking that these will bring happiness to us.

  • Stand strongly for the motion

I agree to the statement as ads have a way of seeping into our heads and making us feel like we really have to have something like that. Some advertisements make one feel that it should have that thing or he'll die. Once a lower need is satisfied, a new need is created

  • Are we progressing or what?

I thing advertising is very important. How will we get to know what are the various products we can choose from to make our lives more comfortable and juat like we need and want it. Advertising does not create artificial needs. However it may take advantage of human nature of greed. Thats it. Thats what i think do you

  • Artificial needs arose in those people who are rich enough to buy it.

The value of rupees in India are falling in high rate. It is now impossible for the middle class people to purchase whatever they see on television, newspaper or by other means. For people like me advertising instead of creating artificial needs, it gives an inspiration to do our work sincerely and achieve our ambition so that we can enjoy all the extra luxury.

  • Needs are created by consumer

This is the rule of marketing , first the demand is created among consumer , then the producer analyzes it , the product is then created and sold back to the customer , the need or demand is always created within the customer , and talking about advertisements , if the producer will not advertise it then the sales will get zero and if such things starts then the whole world economy will get disturbed terribly . One cannot blame the advertisements for investing money in a product . It's the customers choice .

  • Advertising does not create artificial needs, although it does exploit consumers' needs.

Creates? No. Exploits? Yep. People will always have that desire for more. It's like we get bored and can't just be satisfied with what we have. The desire or need for something else is already there, advertisers simply understand that and expose their audience to products that will fill that need.

  • Its new and hot

People only want things because they are "new" take apple for example. Does anyone really talk about new versions and software updates? They just talk about their new item that they flash around. Little do they see the technology that is advancing. We will always have that desire to be modern in technology.

  • Yes i am with u it does not creates any artificial demands or needs only some people thinks that i creates artificial needs

Those people who are least interested that think like this but in real life if we saw so it is very very helpful. It influence the people and even it gives the right choice to the consumers. It does not demand our needs it fulfill our needs go ahead i am with u

  • It does not create artificial need

Advertisement makes us aware about the product. Helps the seller by giving a competition that will make their product better. And the needs are created by the consumer, The advertisement fulfils, It does not create it. Without advertisement there will be no competition, No expectation, And no one will be able to fulfil their dreams
